Ilfracombe Tour
3 hours Tuesdays and Thursdays 10.30am - 1.30pm Hop onboard at Qantas Park to be immersed in Outback Queensland's sheep history. As we travel to Ilfracombe see the big sky country and learn about what this country has to offer in the way of geology, flora, fauna and how people live on the "land". Once we get to Ilfracombe there will be time to explore machinery mile, Wellshot Centre and find out how the country rode on the sheep's back. With lunch (optional) at the iconic Wellshot Hotel - itself containing a lot of history but also renowned for it's quirky themes and activities. Then return to Longreach to continue your own adventures. |
Longreach Powerhouse Museum 2 hours Wednesdays and Fridays 9am - 11am We start the tour at Qantas Park before heading off to the Longreach Powerhouse Museum. Here we take you on a personalised guided tour not only of the Heritage Registered Powerhouse but also the History and Memorabilia collection plus Nogo Cottage. See what it was like to work and live with this Powerhouse when it was in operation. Find out about the history of Longreach. Step back in time and see how we lived in the bush 100 years ago at Nogo Cottage. |
